The Palestinian Farmers Union Is implementing projects to support Gaza strip citizen and farmers

Ramallah- PFU, the Palestinian Farmers Union headquarters in Ramallah clarified in a press release that PFU started the implementation to supply medical equipments and laboratories for three hospitals in Gaza amounted 20 thousands USD funded by the Moroccan- Palestinian solidarity group.

PFU mentioned in the Press release that they are working recently on the implementation of another two projects one of them is amounted 129 thousands USD in partnership with the French organization ACTED fund by the Coordination Office of Humanitarian Affairs in the Palestinian territories which belongs to the United Nation. Throughout this project, 1500 disadvantages families will be provided by food baskets which include fresh vegetables, fruits and Olive oils. While the other project is amounted by more than 170 thousands USD funded by the Coordination Office for the Humanitarian Affairs in OPT (OCHA), this project aims to provide 2000 food baskets with the same contents from farmers directly to beneficiary families.
PFU mentioned that farmers will benefit of food baskets projects especially those affected by the aggression, as PFU will Purchase their products, especially that they are suffering from prices decreasing and inability of marketing their marketing as a result of the Gaza strip circumstances.

PFU director Issa El-Shatleh mentioned that PFU will conduct two of international solidarity campaigns for the benefits of Gaza citizens, in cooperation with several of international farmers unions for the restoration and rehabilitation of the agricultural sector in Gaza, specially the infrastructure such as agricultural roads, irrigation system, farms and lands.

El-Shatleh explained that the two campaigns will be held in a collaboration with international farmers unions, he added that many losses happened in the agricultural sector because of the Israeli aggression, and said that PFU, other agricultural related organizations and the agriculture ministry are evaluating, assessing and collecting Data for the agricultural losses after the Israeli aggressions.
