An Appeal to Support the Palestinian Agricultural Sector

While the Israeli occupation authorities are still confiscating Palestinians lands, uprooting trees, expanding and constructing settlements, building the apartheid wall, and isolating areas by military checkpoints, the Palestinian farmers are still facing harsh conditions. Movement restrictions result in an inability to market their agricultural crops to neighboring markets and the increased price of agricultural production inputs has caused farmers heavy losses over the last ten years. The absence of agricultural insurance or a fund for natural disasters also leaves farmers on the edge. read more

Needs Assessment Workshop for PFU Member Associations (Funded by Agriterra)

The Palestinian Farmers Union organized in Wednesday 26th of December 2007 in Rocky Hotel Hall in Ramallah City a need assessment workshop within the framework of “Farmers Fighting Poverty” project funded by the Dutch organization Agriterra with the presence of PFU Board of directors Chairman, the executive office and representatives from all the Palestinian Farmers Union member associations in the West Bank in addition to PFU coordinators. read more

The PFU received a number of French delegations

The Palestinian Farmers Union General Director received two of the French Palestinian solidarity associations delegations on the 23rd of October 2007 at the Union's headquarters in Ramallah. Their goal is to provide support and assistance for the Palestinian people economically and politically, through the provision of some projects and programs which serve the agricultural sector, particularly olive farmers. read more |
