PFU is focusing its work in this period, on farmers’ rights in water, as water issue firstly is an Israeli-Palestinian political issue, as the Occupation confiscated approximately 82% of Palestinian water, leaving us with only about 18% of the total water storage in the West Bank and Gaza, and this percentage is for domestic and agriculture consumption.
In order to give each Palestinians citizen the right of to access food, and to provide food security PFU is working on 4 levels to achieve the following objectives:

• Organizing farmers in water users associations or groups.
• The optimization of irrigation water usage in a scientific manner, allowing the expansion of farmland and increasing the productivity at the same amount of consumed water.
• Protecting citizens and farmers from the risk of environment pollution by changing the agricultural production used pattern through stop using chemical pesticides in the production process and replacing them by natural organic pesticide.
• Supporting farmers in gaining their water rights and managing water themselves in line with the international and Palestinian law, which set that everyone has the right to access to water.
