Title: The Palestinian Farmers' Union (PFU) held exchange field visit at the headquarters of the Jayyous Agricultural Cooperative Women's Association.

This workshop brought together members of the Jayyous Agricultural Cooperative Women's Association and the Agricultural Tamoun Women’s Association for Food Processing, and a representative of the PFU team, Mr. Oday Hussein, the project coordinator who organized the workshop in a way that ensures the transfer of experiences between different parties, the field coordinator Alaa Taha/Tulkarm, the field coordinator Talal Bani Odeh/Tammun, and the projects’ assistance Miss Sondos Dwaikat.

The workshop was moderated by the expert on advocacy and agricultural policies, Mr. Suhail Al-Salman; the attending members of the associations were introduced to the agricultural policies that guarantee their rights, and how the PFU association fights for the issuance of these laws and policies and their implementation in reality.

Moreover, the issue of the tax refund law for agricultural inputs and outputs was raised and the steps taken by the PFU to pass it for decision makers on the Palestinian government and implement it in a way that guarantees farmers' rights; additionally, laws of agricultural insurance, agricultural lending and the risk prevention fund were also discussed. After that, there was talk about the Israeli occupation's attempt to destroy the agricultural sector and cut off the farms' connection to their land.

The addition was the presence of a third party (the Rural Women's Association) from Bethlehem. They attended as an exchange visit to exchange experiences with the Jayyous Association and the Tammun Association.

The most fruitful part is that representatives of all associations explained in detail about their agricultural activities and the problems they face as a kind of exchange of ideas and experiences. Practically, the meeting concluded with a field visit to guava and avocado farms in the Jayyous region.

In fact, these exchange visits are part of a series of exercises and lectures implemented by the PFU team to pursue the Spanish ACP project “Strengthening job creation and sustainability of Palestinian agricultural cooperatives in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic”.
