Rula has over 16 years of experience in project proposals, development, and implementation. She is currently the Public Relations and Projects Department Manager at the Palestinian Farmers’ Union (since 2016, previously from 2007-2011). She works on public relations activities including: receiving foreign delegations, representing PFU in local and international conferences and meetings, and preparation for local and regional workshops and conferences. Rula is also in charge of fundraising for PFU and proposal writing, as well as running the PFU projects department. She is responsible for preparing periodical projects’ narrative and financial reports and submitting them to donors. Rula conducts periodical visits to PFU’s ongoing project sites, prepares for donors’ project site visits, and receives international delegations. She is also the main interpreter for PFU workshops, meetings, and conferences.
Rula has also worked as a consultant with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and as a local and field coordinator at the representative office of Japan. Her previous work experience includes: DOWJONES Newswire, MAHARAT, Youth Development and Voluntary Work Association (YDVWA), HURRYYAT, Youth Resources Center, and MED MEDIA. Rula has a Bachelor’s Degree in English literature and linguistics from Al-Quds University in Jerusalem.
